hello

hello

by Suzanne Pritchett May 02, 2017

Everyone has their own story. Their own small tale. This is ours.

Hello, I am Suzanne Pritchett and my husband, Zac, and I are the proud and hopeful creators of dutch+boots; a brand we hope you’ll soon love as much as we do.

After the birth of our daughter, Anna, we quickly understood how children can change your world. Both in amazing and significant ways, as well as small, subtle ways too.

But of course everyone’s heard it before. We’ve all had family or friends a few steps ahead of us, smiling knowingly as they tell us “just wait.” And yet we still don’t fully understand until our little one is here.

We learned just how quickly a bond can form, how much we can truly love someone so small, and how devoted we can be to giving our children the best. But we also learned how precious sleep can be. And then quickly learned how grateful we were for our support system. Because we definitely learned that parenting is a challenge. And that every little bit helps.

I kept coming back to this idea, wondering “how could we help make the lives of parents even just a little bit easier?” With Zac’s persistent curiosity and my tendency to dream big (okay, maybe too big sometimes), dutch+boots was born from that very idea: a baby accessory brand committed to making our lives as parents just a little bit easier. A little bit less stressful. A little bit less demanding. So that we can focus more on the things that really matter.

I can vividly remember so many times out with Anna where her bib would be immaculate one moment and filthy the next. Between drool, spit up, and food, she could really do a number on her bib. Too often, I wouldn’t have an extra bib in the diaper bag when I really needed it, and I wouldn’t want to flip it around to the terry/fleece backside. I needed help!

To that point, we’ve launched our store first with our originally designed double-reversible bandana bibs. So not only are they soft and absorbent, keeping your little one clean and looking great, but if one side gets soaked or dirty you can just flip it over and contain the mess. No need to pack an extra. No need for a wardrobe change. See? Just a little bit easier.

With so many opportunities to help make all of our lives as parents easier, we hope this is the beginning of a great story. And we can’t wait to see where this quail of a tale takes us.

As a mom-on-the-go, I needed a bib that would work harder for me. Soft and stylish, sure. But also, longer-lasting and more flexible coordination with a variety of outfits, so I didn’t have to pack quite so much. And that’s what sparked the idea for our original reversible baby bandana drool bib. So, what’s so different about it?

It seemed like every time I was out with my daughter she would get something on her bib in the first 10 minutes leaving me digging through my bag to find a back-up. But rather than always packing multiple bibs, I just wanted a smarter bib altogether. So here are my top 5 reasons why this bib is my – and hopefully your – new diaper bag essential.
